Seven Simple Ways To Be More Organised This Week

Do you ever feel like you have a million and one things to get done in one day… yet you never actually end up getting them done?

Us too.

We can’t create more hours in the day but we can learn to use our time a bit more efficiently. Getting into certain patterns of behaviour can make the problem even worse so if you find yourself putting off tasks and then ending up overwhelmed, this article is for you.

Here are our tips to becoming more organised and taking the stress out of everyday life…

Get a day planner

This will change your life! Planning out what you have to do each day is the perfect way to stay on top of all your errands. Having a daily to-do list means you’ll get the most out of your day and you’ll get everything done.

Plan out your outfit the night before

Deciding what you’re going to wear the night before is a great way to get the morning off to an productive start. You won’t have to worry about finding matching socks or your favourite blouse if you set aside time to get it ready in advance.

Get the kids to pick out their clothes the night before too and that’s one less battle to face in the morning when you’re still half asleep.

Have a clear out

One of the best ways to get organised is to get rid of all the stuff you don’t actually need. If you haven’t used something in over a year, it’s generally a sign that you don’t have any use for it! It’s so easy for rooms to become cluttered with bits and pieces so having a clear out will clear your mind and help you become a more organised person.

Put up a notice board

Having a notice board in your house is the perfect way for everyone to stay on the same page at home. Write up reminders on the board to let everyone in the family know what’s going on each evening and about plans for the week.

Put things back in their place

Making sure you put things back where you got them is a great way to stay on top of things. If everything has a designated place, it will save on cleaning time and eliminate that last minute panic when you can’t find things!

Don’t put things off

Procrastination is the enemy of organised people so do things as soon as you can! Putting things off only leads to you becoming stressed and forgetting to do important tasks.

Understandably, some errands are time consuming but simple household chores like taking out the bins and unpacking the groceries only take a few minutes to complete so you’re better off just getting them out of the way as soon as possible.

Get up 30 minutes earlier

Setting your alarm thirty minutes earlier than you would usually would is the perfect way to get yourself organised for the day. You will feel more awake and in control if you set aside time in the morning to go over everything you need to do that day.
